Thought id start a build on my Fabia. Well its the wifes but ive now got my hands on it.

Ive a New Beetle with a 260hp Audi S3 engine, 996 brakes ... and the list goes on ...and on.. which looks like this:

But im totally fed up with the New Beetle scene so ive decided to put some hours into getting her Fabia looking cool.

1st we start with a plan. as you do.

We picked up a 40k 1 owner Fabia Classic

Engine: stock 1.4

Interior: Stock... (for now)

not much of a plan i here you say! well...

Now comes the Wheels. Audi TT V6 Ronals. in 7.5 x 18

There gonna be tight but with a tiny stretch i think they will work.

She cant stand silver so i let rip with the Punk Pink...

some 215/35/18 will be mounted to the rims once the paints cured fully in about a week.

A set of JOM coilovers are also on the way. Which will be ripped apart and detailed fully.

Together with new top mounts, lower wishbone bushes, lower balljoints and adjustable droplinks

I also satin blacked the grill to get rid of the chrome!

oh and off came all badges except the main ones

The plan is to get it looking like this:

Guess thats OK for a girly Hop you don't have rubbing issues on 18s. The usual acceptable max on fabia is 17"

As for the rubbing. think it will be fine. Its not gonna be on the floor. There is loads of room behind them when i had it lock to lock today and more than enough at the rear... we shall see though

Aye, it can be done. I believe rubbing usually occurs on cornering when the suspension dips whilst wheel is turned.

nah shes says no. She wants a simple 1.4. if she wants a blast my keys seam to go walk abouts !

I was going to go down the VRS route but it not a VRS so dont see the point in making it look like one.

I want to sell my car anyway and start something new anyway.

Maybe even sell them both and do the VRS thing...

The time and money i put into the Beetle was silly and now im trying to sell it and have had zero interest lol even at a silly price for its spec

well i cant sell it for 5 1/2

prob got near 10 in it but you know how it is 20 quid here 50 quid there it all adds up fast

think its the lefty thing putting people off, which i dont see why. Your only say 3 foot the other side... guess people are scared...

It was easy enough driving around Europe last year... it's as easy to be honest I loved driving around Holland last summer!

Dartford tunnel however tests my money throwing skills every time... ive lost loads of money when it just bounces out when i throw it in from the other side lol

I have loads of Real Carbon fibre left over from all the parts i did for the Beetle so ive decided to do some skinned center caps for the Audi rims.

Easy way of covering up the Audi rings too lol

Is it polyester resin you use, same as fibreglass??

i just use general use Epoxy Resin. I tried a few different types when doing the Beetle and have found a really nice ultra clear one. The stuff you get with the crappy Carbon Mods kit is really yellow and tbh is not very good.

Nearly done. Off to the airing cupboard for a 24 hour cure. Small flat and clear coat!

Job done. Better than sticky vinyl any day

Like the carbon centres,any info mate whats needed to do the carbon and where to buy it from?

Loads of places to get the fabric however the resin is a bit harder. All down to finding a good brand you can work with.

It's not a quick process either
