Octy transmission "slips sometimes"

Featured Replies

Well, like tittle says, the tranny. On my 2.0 automatic petrol octy slips sometimes if drived hard. Happens on 2nd to 3rd most of time, but too on 3rd to 4th if gas pedal is pushed hard on highway speeds.

The car have 180.000 Km on clock, at 120.000 Km aprox the fluid level was checked, level was ok.

Can be this low oil level?

Thanks folks!

Another question friend, and thanks again, here (Venezuela) can be found only :-( Castrol, Motul, Shell and Valvoline oils. What type of oil of any of the named brands is good for the auto trans.?

Thanks!

The name brands will be fine as long as they are to vw specs. Hopefully you still have your hand book and it will say which spec the oil needs to be. Think there could be a filter that may need changing too.

When changing automatic transmission oil always change the filter as well. If you do this yourself, find out the proper procedure to doing it, usually not just "drain and refill".
