Ventilated Seats

Featured Replies

It seems an expensive option but if I'm going to be plonked on the seat as a taxi driver for many hours it might be worthwhile, particulalrly in summer months.

I'm curious what is involved.

- Are you effectively getting air conditioning for your arse ? Does it blast cold air through holes in the seat ?

- Does the seat end up looking different ?

- Would the seat not then be vulnerable to liquids going down inside ( thinking here as a taxi driver and the risk of spewings and other liquids eminating from passengers )

Think it works by drawing (sucking) air from the underside of the seat.

I recall the heated & cooled seats in the Mondeo and they worked very well indeed.

There have been a couple of threads on here about them - do a quick search.

Thanks, will do.

As a taxk driver, the concept of ventillated bum has appeal.

You boys run some posh taxi's - I've never been in a taxi with leather seats, let alone ventilated ones.

That said, as the owner of a 6 year old I can appreciate how leather is actually easier to keep clean than fabric

Yes, there will be small holes in the leather for the air to flow through. I would have thought liquids could go through a bit too easily, and then soak into the foam.

I think the Superb sucks and the Mondeo blows :giggle:

If someone has those ventilated seats, then how do you solve this problem :

the leather care products are ofter creamy, and if you put that stuff onto the seat, all those little holes are filled with that s*it :giggle: . Of course one solution could be that I take a small needle and clean those holes one by one but that seems too hard.....

Very OCD that would be and tedious - guess we need to see these seats and then decide. Good point though.
