Hi, this has been covered elsewhere but I'm not sure whether I have a pre fl or fl Octavia. It was registered in jun 08. I'm looking to update to seven digit postcode searching on my Columbus head unit. I know I need to check my existing part number and update firmware according to that but will i also need to worry about the battery drain I've seen referred to?

I would say you have a pre fl model. Is the Columbus already in? I would say you shouldn't have the battery drain issue, but you should get someone with vcds to check.

you will need map 7 onwards to get 7 digit postcode searching , so update your map first as you need this anyway (use a space or two when inputing the post code to make up the full 7 digit postcode if needed ie;- n111df won't work n11 1df will) if you find the new map not letting you put full post codes in then update your firmware and can gateway if needed
