Who can carry out Warranty Work.

Featured Replies

I have Skoda extended warranty on my Vrs and I have just fallen out with my local Skoda dealer. So question is:-

If I need warranty work in the future does it have to go to a Skoda Dealer or can the local VW dealership carry out the work.

Thanks

Andy

I believe you have to stick with a Skoda dealer in general... there must be another good one around?

So who did you just have it serviced with?

Skoda... But there's a whole other thread about that

The dealer he's just fallen out with at a guess :(

Just seen that thread , I knew it was a Skoda delear, was wondering which one as Andy had already had issues with Benfield

VW won't do any warranty work for Skoda. I tried them when mine was still under warranty.

VW shouldn't do elective warranty work on a Skoda. If you can drive it in, the answer should be no.

There are situations where a Skoda will arrive at a VW dealership on the back of a breakdown truck and warranty work is done. Even in these cases there is no guarantee that approval will be given.

VW seem a snob related crew in general, after I went around to one dealership where the sales people seemed real busy doing their paper work rather than help me to pick a new car out, so I walked out of course, without buying.

Being in a pair of jeans and a 'T' shirt as opposed to wearing a suit & tie, might be called pre-judgemental.(LOL)

Looks like making peace or driving further afield.

It would depend if the warranty is underwritten by Skoda themselves or by a third party, if it's by a third party then any VAT registered garage can carry it out, however that would largely depend on what the issue is.
