Nothing of worth will come up on the computer. Have you checked all the obvious stuff, such as under-pressure tyres or brakes dragging? When was it last serviced, and was everything done?

Last serviced about 10 weeks ago ,plugs, filters, oil &dissy cap etc.Obvious stuff checked, even had new coil, front tyres and new tailpipe recently.

Running around town use to get about 30 mpg but now getting 20. Just wondered if could it be the lambda sensor ? Just remembered last year had a new fuel filter and cleaned the tank out.

Could be, but a bit speculative to replace without testing, maybe get an emissions test done to check it? Most MOT garages I know will do one for peanuts outside of an MOT.

Valve clearances OK?

As far as I remember the garage said then emissions are OK. Have`nt checked valves yet.

The change in mpg has happened quite sudden, almost around the time of the new coil?

I would definitely check the valve clearances.

I once adjusted them wrong on the MPG plummited.

Sounds like you have covered all the basics.

Have you tried cleaning the throttle body? Any strange noises from the engine? I had the gasket under the throttle body leaking on mine and that also affected MPG. Replaced it and cleaned the throttle body and it was back to normal.

Plan now is taking her off the road for 6mth and spend some time doing the valves maybe a new chain, and giving her a good going over in the comfort of the garage. Then back on the road for the eldest to learn to drive????

that wont take 6 hours :p
