I was bemoaning the lack of Skodas being rallied at the weekend.

It would be good to see a few around.

I might be going silly but I watched the New zealand rally on ITV over the weekend ...............did skoda have any cars in that or was it one of the rallys they missed out on?

Yeah they were in it. ITV coverage sucks, they only show the front runners.

I looked on the wrc.com site on monday and all i could find about skoda's performance was the fact one of the cars hit a gaggle of turkey's crossing the road whilst almost flat out in 6th gear. Did a fair bit of damage!

Do the VAG group need to spend a lot more money on the rally team?? I dont have any idea what their budget is but obviously something isnt working :(

Would be great but I think VW granted Seat that one.

Wonder if VW should have a rethink...Rally the Seat Cupra's and stick the skodas on a race track (especially given the impending octy vRS arrival.Be amazed if they went a tried rallying in the octy again.Or would they :rubchin: )

Apparantly, its a 1.6 16v with 218bhp, 6 speed sequential box and other goodies..

Someone here mentioned Skoda rallying? Theres a few about and I know of a Fabia vRS being built (as a diesel) to rally as well. Should be interesting when its done, although it will be "fairly" standard.

The ITV programme is the same as the Eurosport one which is the WRC one, with more stuff cut (& ITV adding there own pieces in). The Eurosport does give Skoda some coverage, even on the preview & review programmes they get mentioned
