I have just bought a valeo smf conversion kit from a friend at my local skoda dealer and need some advice on it. The kit is second hand but has only been used for a couple of weeks then taken out as the customer didnt like the noise from the smf. The parts he gave me was the flywheel, clutch and preasure plate and says this is all I need. Do you reuse the standard bolts, slave cylinder and thrust bearing? or do i need to by anymore parts to convert it?

For info, the noise is usually related to the weight of the flywheel.

If it's a light performance one it'll be very noisy.

Flywheel bolts need to be new, slave cylinder (which incorporates the thrust bearing) can be re-used but for the relatively small cost you might as well fit a new one while everything's out.

I'm on one of the Jabbasport super light weight SMF's and it rattle like an old trackor at tickover

i fitted my valeo last weekend, it came with new flywheel bolts, it had 3 pressure plate bolts, a small sachet of grease for the gearbox splines, and obviously the pressure plate, friction plate and flywheel. the bearing and slave cylinder are all as one, the concentric slave cylinder. It doesnt come with this and you can re use but for the sake of 34 quid i think it was from euro car parts it might aswell be changed whilst the box is off.

I fitted my valeo smf kit the other week and it's been fantastic. little noise between 1500 and 2000 but then after its silent. really pleased with it

Im on the jabba heavy one and it rattles like a tractor. I Hate it!!!

I'm on the new, heavier Jabba one and it doesn't really bother me. It sounds "different", but I very quickly got used to it.

I really hate mine, I'm just trying to justify re fitting a DMF.

What arw these kits like ? I need a new clutch and flywheel and looking at a smf as heard there better for power
