Engine mounts - VRS

Featured Replies

Hi,

How long do the engine mounts usually last and what are the signs of wear?

Is a bit of vibration under load a sign?

I mean the proper mounts by the way, not the dog bone at the bottom - thats brand new.

Thanks in advance.

I may well be wrong, but I think that could be a sign of the top gearbox mount?

Of of my engine mounts broke at about 40k miles. The one under the expansion tank.. Longevity depends on how you drive it really.

Odd vibration / rattle under power was the clue, found it when doing cambelt.

I've just recently had my cam belt done and ever since, after the car has been running for a little while there is a judder that is on/off as it is stood idling.

It looks as it is been caused from the back of the engine, as it is shaking the whole of the exhaust. But when you engage the clutch or pull the gear stick back towards forth it stops the judder.

Just wounded if anybody else have experienced this or know anything about it, as from reading post on here leads to it been a mount or timing been a little out. Also the soda dealer said it is possibly the flywheel on its way out.

What dogbone mount did u use i hear some of them cause vibration ? ... The iprated super pro bush ones i think
