Lowering

Featured Replies

Times are tight as the wife has FORCED me into buying a second house but i am not giving in that easily.... I have wanted to lower my VRS for around 3 month now and i have had coilovers in mind. Now the 2nd house has come about i cant be going spending £500 + fitting on a set so i have been looking:

JOM coilovers @ £190

Or

H&R Springs @ £160

What are peoples opinions on these? i know the H&R stuff is really good but are they really worth not changing the whole lot for £190? I cant find much info on these JOM coilovers from people who have been running them for some time.

Im not looking to Slam my car to the ground only 40-50mm

Cheers

I run joms on mine. I had them all the way down and they were horrible. I have raised it up a bit an the ride is much better. There not the softest ride but the car handles amazing. Everyone who gets in it says how well it sticks in roundabouts ect. Transformed my car.

And IMO i wouldnt buy springs unless i was uprating the shocks aswell.

Cheers mate,

How long have you been running JOM coilovers

since i got my car which is about 3 months ago. the lad who owned the car has had them on for ages. i came to adjust them and they weren't even seized. unless your going all out on some kw's, JOM are probably your best bet mate.

We sell loads of the JOM kits, great option if you're on a budget.

Im running JOM coilovers too. had them on bout 2-3 months now. car sits pretty low tbf, but have no issues with ride comfort. feels planted in every corner. for the money id say there a good buy. i brought some ford mondeo drop links at the same time.

JOM coilovers £195

drop links £20 for pair

Just to add balance and probably not everyones idea of ideal but I got second hand Weitec's for £200 which had covered a few k, they cleaned up great and the ride on my car is flawless.

ive got AP coilovers they aint half bad.

i have joms too, had them on since end of october and i have no complaints what so ever, car corners great, dosnt wallow around like an old barge and gives it a nice stance, i agree with not getting better spring unless you get brand new or upgraded dampers. for the money you cant complain!
