Keep me on the right Track......

Featured Replies

Right lads,

Needing some guidance, I'm toying with the possibility of getting a new car as long as I can get some funds together anyway - selling my car + small loan. I've previously owned a Fabia vRS and loved it - from memory anyway. Only really got rid of it to fund another project.

I'm looking for something that get's me reasonable MPG (40+) accompanied with decent performance. As we all know straight line the vRS isn't the quickest but that's not where the fun lines and that's fine performance wise for me. I've had a Clio 182, Leon FR+ TDi remapped to approx 210bhp and now (unfortunately) I have a BMW 318 Coupe - don't like it. Anyway, I don't do a lot of miles per week, probably about 200 all in so I don't think it would make too much of a difference wether it's petrol or diesel. But I do like the Turbo's.

Anyway I'm basically toying with the idea of either coming back and getting another vRS as I loved them, possibly a SE one as they look superb and funds dependent. Or open to any other suggestions which fit the bill. Budget would probably be max at the cost of a vRS SE so a maximum of probably £6K but the lesser the better. I'm toying with another Fabia vRS (well specced), Suzuki Swift Sport, Fiat Grande Punto T-Jet/M-Jet, Polo GT Tdi, Golf of some sort.

Anyway has anyone driven any of the above or would anyone recommend any others cars that fit my criteria. Or is it a case to stick what I know and come join the Fabia club again  Honesty would be appreciated but I'm sure it can't be guaranteed

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Kyle

Could a MOD please remove this thread in the general car chat please. It's probably more applicable here.

Howdy.

Personally, of the ones you have listed, I'd disregard all but the polo/golf or the fabia. Suzuki swifts are pap, as are puntos.

So Fabia - Better the devil you know! :)

Yeah I think i'd be edging more towards the Polo GT TDi as the Mk5 Golf GT TDi are still quite expensive and I think they look pretty boring to be honest. I've always like the Swift Sport's but no good you say, oh well.

I can see me heading back towards the fabia. I was looking at a vRS SE on pistonheads last night and I believe it's been picked up by someone on here recently No. 828 I think.

Oh and thanks.

No problemo :)

Hope you find what you are looking for.

I've heard the swift sports are quite a good little car? Maybe not the fastest but handle well and are fun? (never driven one mind!)

What about Ibiza Cupra?

What about Ibiza Cupra?

Hello mate,

Yeah I've heard there quite good cars, excellent handling and fun to drive. I think they look really good also.

Thought about an Ibiza Cupra but had one before (not a cupra mind you) and thought it was fine but just can't see myself going back to one. Anyone got any other suggestions or even small engine petrol cars?
