Upgrading the bushes!

Featured Replies

FYI to anyone reading this and thinking of doing it them selves - buy the Powerflex bushes - the seat ones are a bugger to fit!

Agree. I am a car noob and Avalon talked me into trying it myself. And if I can manage it anyone can.. Powerflex fitted and the car drives totaly different but in a good way. Just need to get my tracking done now as its way off

You make it sound like I had to :D

I'd say the same to anyone who contemplates doing this job themselves, buy the Powerflex kit, it will save you hours and is a doddle to fit compared to the standard versions, just look at how many posts have complained about the oe re-failing, the cupra bushes being an utter pig to fit even with the correct tool and even indies being unable to do the job properly. Then again if you are some sort of mechanical sadist buy/make a tool, fanny about for half a day with straps and stripping your tool's threads as others have. It's a free(ish) world.

Hmm this Dogbone thing is really odd, I like the OP had insanely powerful vibrations shaking the car to bits at idle but the worst was it resonated through the dash and buzzed as something must be loose in there.

I wonder why a few have really quite bad vibration and others don't notice it hardly at all. Anyone who'd sat in my car certainly wouldn't say it was barely noticeable!!

I have wondered if perhaps it highlights one of the other mounts (upper gearbox) to be on its way out? As the vibration appeared - although not as strongly at over 3k rpm when travelling too if I remember right.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Yeah brand new oem mate felt amazing with no vibrations at first.

Did you go back to OEM?
