help...what discount on a used superb?

Featured Replies

hello

I am trying to buy a used Superb at around £11000.

Does anyone know what discount I could get from their own experience? (it will be a card purchase)

thank you all

Hope to join the owners category very soon

I have no idea, but buying by card will make it harder to get a discount as they will have to pay something like 2% for the privellige of accepting your card. Could you consider a bank loan? Probably cheaper interest too.

It depends on several things.

Q1 What do you know about cars and Skoda's in particular?

Ans. If not a lot then take someone with you.

Q2. How well do you haggle?

Ans. Refer to Ans above.

Q3. What car are you after (petrol/diesel/estate/hatchback/4x4)?

Ans. Decide this first.

Q4. Debit or CC?

I could go on but please read this forum first for all the bits and pieces that are from peoples experiences.

Best of luck

Compare prices for similar model/age/mileage countrywide.

see how they compare to the valuation guides like parkers glass etc.

There seems to be more coming out of the fleets so supply is increasing which should help with choice and may soften prices.

I will pay debit card or cash on a 170 cr se or elegance

I hope someone can tell me 500 or 750 off or any figure.

Maybe all guys on forum bought their cars new so nobody can share their experience....(I hope not)

Calling all skoda used car buyers (main dealer purchases) for their valuable input

Thank you all

I bought used. I think any movement is likely to be in any trade-in if you have one.

I got "top-book" for mine, and a couple of requested extras, but paid what the dealer was asking.

But it all depends on the asking price in comparison with what other sellers are asking for similar cars. Don't think you can assume an automatic discount just for asking! Debit cards, of course, should incur no extra costs.

What kind of extras you squeezed out of them?

Thanks Stuart

Spare wheel and jack in place of gunk aerosol.

I guess for extras if you can guess what they have round the back in stock or can borrow of another on the forecourt there is a better chance of getting them in the second hand car.

If memory serves me it was about £300 off the sticker price plus £400 above book on my trade-in, mats&flaps (of course :)) and a full tank of fuel (just over £70 at the time). Plus a brand new brolly for the back door - I've a feeling they're an extra these days. Mine was bought as a 6 month old ex-dealer car. It also came with spare wheel, sunset glass and 3 spoke MFSW so overall I was very happy :)

And that is the point it does not matter what others may or may not get if you are happy and feel that you have had a good deal then      followed by a beer or two to celebrate.

  • I am still waiting for a reasonably low milage 1.9 s or se hatch to come onto the market for under 10K in white
  • Anyone seen one available

How about a Silver Greenline...I'll accept £10k!
