I have bought a set of jom coilovers for my 04 plate vrs. My main queries are:

1. Where is the most reasonable place to get new top mounts and bearings? Tps quoted around £65 but didnt know if i could get them slightly cheaper non genuine? As my local parts places wanted silly money!

2. Will i definitely need shortened drop links? The joms start from 40mm-100mm i only want around 40-50mm so unsure if shortened links definitely necessary? Or are there other drop links that do the job?

Get them from your local GSF mate they are cheaper and still good stuff

I got mine from eurocarparts, around £45 with briskoda discount IIRC?

Drop links aren't always needed, it depends on what point they connect to on the strut, which varies brand to brand. worth researching with current JOM owners

I didnt know whether to just by the shortened links just incase. Are there any particular brands to go for or any really? Just trying to get everything i need before fitment :-)

bought my top mounts from gmf. When I was looking for shortened drop links I found a pair of new mondeo ones on ebay for around 15 posted. but i didnt need them with my coilovers in the end.

Yeah i will be fitting them at work in a few weeks when all my other bits are ordered up and a free weekend. Are the mondeo drop links what most people go with? As you can buy adjustable shortened links but they do cost a fair bit more. I will also be buying the hub spreader tool which i hear is invaluable.

I needed the Mondeo drop links and I'm only down about 40mm

You will need shorter drop links with the joms. I got them on my skud, I got new top mounts from euro car parts with the 25% briskoda discount code, and I have the adjustable drop links, they cost more but they look the part and are adjustable so you can fine tune a bit more, I have had the joms on for 6 months and loved every second, just remember to get your wheel alignment / tracking done after to save your tyres after the geometry change

Cool, i will order the adjustables if they are better suited to the job. Yeah will get one of our other dealers to do the tracking as ours have died recently! Cheers for all the advice just time to get them fitted now :-)
