Fabia Vrs Millteck High Flow Cat

Featured Replies

Im considering upgrading my exhaust and getting a Millteck High Flow Cat system and was wondering the gains i could expect...Ive searched the forum for anyone that has a Vrs with just this system on and also the cupra intake/green filter mod but cant seem to find any results. Does anyone have any proven figures for these mods( millteck and cupra intake / fliter) without an engine remapp. I have contacted Millteck dirtect and here is their reply....is this accurate !!!!!

Many thanks for your interest in Milltek Sport products. We have two products available for your Fabia vRS. The cat back system with connecting pipe and rear silencer. And our hi-flow sports cat assembly. We

The BHP increase sounds far fetched to me. On a diesel the only thing a good exhaust system will do is allow more power to be gained with remapped, with marginal gains as standard.

Gains quoted sound too optimistic. With the remap you will get the torque increase over just a remap, but not much hp.

Apparently the major gain is in the way the engine breathes and it spools up faster i've heard making it more linear.

I've only had my Milltek turbo-back system on for about 10 days, but early results (with Cupra intake and a Green panel air filter) are:

  • Intake air pressure is increasing at up to 1600 milliBars/second, compared to around 800 milliBars/second with a standard intake/filter/exhaust.
  • Engine pulls from lower revs (1400 rpm if you are careful - or lazy) and keeps pulling for longer
  • Something like 4 mpg more at cruising speeds (60 mph+)
  • If you gun the engine it sounds great, but drinks fuel like there's no tomorrow. But sometimes you just gotta do it.
  • Exhaust sounds so good you turn the stereo off; a burble when cruising, a muffled growl when being pushed.

I expect results are critically dependant on driving style and a whole load of other factors, but if you go down the 'get it breathing properly first' route like I did, you won't regret it.

When I get the chance to put it on a dyno, I'll publish the results.

How much did you pay for yours and where from ? Yeah it would be good if you got it dyno'd then we could get some proven results for anyone thinking of it....i like the idea of a nice sounding car as well..I mailed back Millteck asking for some prove of the expected gains they give me before, lets see what they come back with.

You should get some gains without a remap purely from the better flow. The ECU hsould adapt to it although I'm not totally sure if this is tru of the Furby.

However, as has been said already, you'd probably get more with a remap.

Can understand the torque increase.....had a Milltek dp and sports cat fitted to my Octy and the torque increase was similar to the quote above.

Not sure on the power figure...I think 10bhp is typically but you never know. :D

wow atleast you get a reply back, I've em-mailed them twice and never received anything back  I guess I have my answer now :D

DOH!

I was thinking those were really good prices, and then i realised you add them together if you want the full system :o

If you just get the back box i know there is a very small performance gain but is the sound just as nice as the full system?

Also, with just the new back box is the warranty affected (its a wear and tear part after all) and is insurance increased as the car wont be any faster?

sorry to ask so many questions, i have a thirst for skoda knowledge :P

Yes, you'll get the same sound as with the full system, although it will probably be a little quieter than a full system (but louder than standard). New back box will affect warranty, but how many problems with exhausts failing have you heard about? ;) And your insurance may be increased, depending on how sympathetic/knowledgable the insurance company are. When I did just the back box on my old car, it was classed as a cosmetic mod and I had to pay a little extra for it. However, when I changed the rest of the exhaust, there was no charge as they'd already got me down as having a replacement exhaust, despite me declaring a performance increase..... :D

Thanks Chris :)

Thats tempting for me, cant afford all of it or an insurance increase (only 23) and the milltek twin pipes look so good :D

My car is a 53 plate, and the standard pipe is such a faff to keep clean.

i get my BlueFlame system fitted on 25th of this month after getting it off ebay.

Ahah

So you're the bloke I emailed!

Cheers for getting back to me btw... I'm very tempted by the B/F system

Counting down the days..........

Get my eibach springs next week too

dave i have emailed you if you want to give me a ring for a good price on a miltek system and high flow cat

And a good price it will be too... ;)

Thinking of going for the Blueflame system myself then getting a Powerflow custom tailpipe or seeing if Blueflame could do a custom tailpipe for me, should be interesting...
