any 3.6 owners

Featured Replies

Hi

As the title asks,,, anyone on here?? I am an Octavia vrs owner and really looked at getting one of these,,, to be honest I am half hearted swapping for one!!!!!

Andy

I have owned one, new, since Jan 28th 2012 and have done just over 6K miles.

The car averages 29.264 mpg, but dives to low 20's around town.

The engine is sublime, smooth, quiet (until you hit the loud pedal) and effortless when you on on A roads and motorways.

I still do find the engine frustrating around town and will soon go in for a re-map. The absence of low end torque around town means your rarely out of 4th gear and often in 3rd.

The re-map moves the torque curve slightly lower down the rev range and adds about 10% more torque/bhp (bhp not really needed - by me anyway).

It goes like the preverbial s of a shovel and the surefootedness (is there such a word) of the 4WD makes it a great year round car,

Love the car and the vat and finance deal at the time of purchase does lessen the increased running costs a tad.

Thanks dyer

I did look and wish I had opted now,,, a petrol vrs is so under powered!! I have discussed this on the forum but still feel let down!!

I know about a re map but really worried about the cars warranty,,, I have researched the blue fin option

Andy

I agree with the above. Mines done around 6000 miles, and ill get 35 mpg on a run now

Is the vRS really not growing on you yet Andy?

Understand you have come from a high powered car and really feel for you - 3.6 would be an option (funds permitting obviously), perhaps a test drive?

I've had mine for a year and am really happy with it,

my previous 2 cars were a BMW 745i and a mazda 6 MPS,

The Skoda has a little of both, limousine like until you drop it into sport then its almost as quick as the MPS.

economy is about 11 litres/100kms (25 mpg for Poms), mainly city driving

No I am really not!!! There are other issues that have, added to my dislike!!

To be fair it's a good car but lacks the throttle response!! I don,t mean like a Ferrari just a bit more than a transit feel!!!
