TSI rough running

Featured Replies

Car is back, cam chain replaced, service done, running sweet as a nut. Excellent :D

I'm wondering if an ECU update has been done as it feels like it comes on boost smoother than before and 1st gear is more willing now. Still I'm now curious to see what JKM's dyno recons the power output is :)

Good news then, glad you sorted out and hope smile is back on your face again.

I am almost sure that your ECU has been updated. Plus I am almost sure that the dyno output will be the same (with minor + or - ) as before.

I made a complaint at my dealer after ECU update due to 24W6 directive (turbo shimming) that the car was lazy. The same complaint did another customer of his (I don't know the other owner). Then about 15 days after my complaint he called me back and he told me that he contacted the manufacturer and they responded that the car will return to its previous state (not sooo smooth turbo mode at ~1.700rpm) after 800 to 1000Km period. Plus that consumption may be arised up to 1.5lt / 100Km and after will drop down to previous and even lower figures.

Well I have nearly 1.700Km driven since then and YES after c.a. 1.000Km my car is back again up to +90% (turbo is not so smooth any more) and my consumption is very slightly lower now that the pre update period. Of course there wasn't a higher fuel consumption at that 1.000Km period except some times a +0.3 lt / 100Km.
