Amundsen +..............little problems!

Featured Replies

I wonder if anyone can help. Just taken delivery of my Yeti Urban with the Amundsen + satnav. Is there a setting hidden away somewhere to make it reduce the volume of the DAB/Music when it is reading a navigation instruction? I know you can alter the volume of the navigation commands but it is always a battle between the satnav lady and whatever is playing!!

Whilst I'm on.........does anyone find the voice a bit odd on this unit? It sounds as though she is never sure what she is going to say next........."take the next d'right" or "take the next d'left'!!! Sometimes she says "take the left on the second" - on the second what?!?!? Is it just me???

this is interesting to hear as i've just ordered a yeti urban today and trawling these forums there seem to be a lot of problems with the Amundsen sat nab. Apparently it doesn't even read 7 digit postcodes. Is this right?

The Amundsen+ does take 7 digit postcodes. Perhaps it was the Amundsen (without the +) that didn't?

Maps from version 3 and upwards take 7 digit postcodes, the coding is in the map not in the unit.

SM73, I agree with your comments about the SATNAV. I don't think it is as good as my Navman. The voice is hesitant and the directions are delivered almost too late to be of any use. I have to slow down at some junctions just to be sure I've received all the information. The way it delivers a road number is also strange, for example, the A3029 would be spoken as ' the A three thousand twenty nine'.

P.S. I haven't found any other volume settings.
