Vrs Colour coding

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I parked up beside this green octavia the other day and it got me to thinking I need to go on a chrome reducing mission.

I'm inbetween a few options -

  1. Plastidip the grille - http://www.plastidip...dex.cfm?Aerosol Spray - 311g&stage=3&pid=PDL-0009&colour=Blue
    However, in blue or black?
  2. Get the grille painted - however, blue or black?
  3. Get a carbon wrap done on the grille/mirrors/roof

Anyone got any thoughts on this? My feeling is that the plastidip offers the best solution but have only seen this in black, has anyone seen/used the other colours? The blue might just look odd next to race blue

By the way. Your numberplate is illegal.

That front skirt does not suit the car, although black grill is what the green needs, I'm after getting a new grill sprayed black for when my octy comes

typical briskoda response, hes probably already aware of that!

back to question posed, i think the race blue would probably look better with a colour coded grill.

Oooo someone else who feels the same about the people who state the obvious about peoples cars haha!! Yeah race blue would look good with blue grill

Yup, colour-coded rather than black, for me. It's on my wishlist!

I agree - don't like the spliter, but the grill looks good in black - not sure about a black grill on a blue car though. With out seeing it I'm not sure it'll work.

@shane_saintsfc - what's wrong with the number plate? looks legally spaced to me

Don't like. Colour coding works only on black or dark colours IMO. Matt black looks better on blue and white.

now thats an illegal no. plate :giggle:

I'm all for a black grill and black mirrors but the wheels need painting too.

Green bodywork, black features and silver wheels is just too much...

I passed the green VRS when it was parked outside West End Garage, Uphall. Love it!

Not a fan of the green vRS to be honest although prefer it over the blue.

Shame about the megane in front spoiling the all Octy picture

Seriously, it just looks like you're trying to hard imo and it doesn't work for me.

Me personally think black grill only suit certain colours but to have black it needs something to compliment it

Normally wheels

i have been mulling over this for the last while too

a few options in mind, more to follow in a week or so :bandit: :bandit:

What's wrong with the numberplate? I've had it on the last 3 cars without any issues?

Interesting thoughts on blue v black. Anyone got any thoughts on the plastidip gear?

ordered two cans of black plastidip, lets see how it goes.

Thanks for posting the pics.

I really want to like the rallye green, but the more pics I see the more I think it doesn't really work. This guy has the right idea with the gloss black mirrors and grille, but its let down badly by the snow plough, silver wheels and comedy ride height.

Just not doing it for me I'm afraid.

:(

Colour coded Grill in Blue looks great IMO - I've been thinking about doing this myself, may get a 2nd hand grill to practise on.... can always Wrap it if it looks poor ;-)

Colour coded race blue FTW

+1 Moley got his just before me and wasted no time at all and that pic made my mind up that I must do the same. I hate the giant mirrored finish on the FL the Octy II was alright chrome as not as much flash on it.

Race Blue FTW!
