Mk1 unknown electrical part

Featured Replies

Hello everyone!

I´m quite new here and I have a question about an unknown part under the bonet.

I searched the Haynes manual, but I didn´t find it there :(

It´s making a quite loud clicking sound after driving some time.

I´m pretty sure it´s that thing in the picture, but I have no idea what it is?

Maybe someone who is smarter than me could say the name of that part and maybe the part number/code :)

Greetings from Estonia,

Electrical :)

boost control valve n75

Looks like the N75 on an AGR engine. It could also be the N239. The control hose will go to either the EGR (N239) or down to the turbo (N75).

Given its location (right of the pair of valves), I would say it was the 'n75' One of the pipes should route down to your turbo.

Is your car a 90/110 and what age is it?

It doesn't look that similar to mine....

Looks like it is the boost control valve what 'missingmyvrs' said :)

So that´s the reason why my turbo isn´t working properly, that valve is probably broken :wall:

Mine is 66kW and 1999.

Thanks everyone for your help, now going to hunt for the new part :hi:

...Mine is 66kW and 1999.

That's the AGR engine and that is the N75 valve.

Unplug the electrical connection, start the car and have someone briefly rev the engine to high revs. Does the turbo actuator rod move?
