I did a test of how much I could get out of a tank of my Fabia 1.6 TDI 105ps.

Doing motorway and A road driving I managed 638 miles with the range of 0 miles left indicated.

After refuling I managed to put 56 litres into the tank, not bad seeing that the tank should only hold 45 litres, which make an average of 51.8mpg.

I'm trying Shell V-Power fuel in the car so it has cost me £83 to fill it up. :'(

I think you managed to fill the expansion tank too, there's a fair bit of extra capacity in there! I think I did the same before my last long trip cos it took 200 miles to get to the 3/4 mark, when it should be 100ish

Lol... Good effort, just drove down to Wales in the vRS, and got 390 miles to my tank! Lol

That is pretty awesome and one thing I miss from my last car is the bigger tank. Is there any special way of filling the expansion tank as I've tried a couple of times and just ended up with wet feet!

I'm not sure, as I haven't looked, but most cars have a small thing to press just inside the fuel filler hole. I believe you fill up the car, let it settle, then press that and you can get a few a more litres in.
