aftermarket cone filters

Featured Replies

I'm sure there's cheaper ones available, get the cheapest one and put a proper named air filter on

Yes the pipework will be good! Also if you uprate to a forge 007p dv it sounds the mutts nutts!

I would recommend a decent filter for it though, a k&n cone can be had for £30-£40! Got to save that turbo:)

I have a jabba induction kit on mine in a box under bonnet with a 3in cold air feed to it running from front ns front grill that uses a jetex cone filter

Jabba looks a nice set up but an open cone in a bay behind a battery box isnt going to give the coldest best airflow but i bet it sounds nice.

I have no pics of filter on mine just a nice bit of carbon :)

I dont have room under battery as my intercooler piping is under there,

Does sound rather like its trying to suck glovebox through bulkhead on acceleration

Tried one of the ebay kits but would not fit without moving the horns.

So then tried the cone filter and surround trick, was not keen on it tbh.

I now have carbon goodness, it sounds awesome.

My love of carbon my force me to waste money oneday :D

Do you have to take the bumper off to fit the carbonio ?

i have a jaaba one, sounds great! although i need to sort a bigger cold air feed.

The only issue I see with mounting the air filter down low is water, especially with all the flooding of late. Should you drive through a ford or a sufficiently deep puddle or bow wave then there is the possibility that the filter may get waterlogged and water may enter the induction system as its sucked up like a giant vacuum cleaner. Result as my brother has found out is that your car will need a new engine due to hydrolocking it.

Do you have to take the bumper off to fit the carbonio ?

Nope, but by the time you removed the battery and headlamp it can be quicker to remove the bumper which only takes 20mins tops.

If you hydro-lock it you are a complete divet. I live in scotland and it ****es it down! If you want to drive through fords you buy a land rover :)

Vrs needs a recirulating valve

my baileys is a recirc valve :) was on when i bought the car. its not too loud but not too quiet. just nice :)

Wait until you put an air filter on then!

My forge was almost silent then put the carbon kit on and its loud as anything now :o

I always wondered...... Does the bailey recirculating make the normals squeeky let off

" ok its hard ro describe a noise " like all japs use

Nope, but by the time you removed the battery and headlamp it can be quicker to remove the bumper which only takes 20mins tops.

No need to remove battey , just headlamp and that is 2 minutes job. You can poke filter down the headlight hole and hold it in place or remove lower bumper grill to hold it. Agree though not hard to remove bumper although I fixed mine from underneath now too.

na bailey one isnt squeeky at all, just a low tshhhhh.

i dont think a cone filter on a turbo engine would roar asmuch as a NA engine, just more of a sucky wooosh noise

i have the green cotton open cone induction kit but no carbonio or abd intake just in the engine bay like fred blokes nice filter would recomend it but i do need to sort out cold air feed to it or get someone to make me one up
