Need to fix my alarm.

Featured Replies

I have a fault with my alarm and it sounds whenever it feels like it.

As a result I have to lock with 2 clicks so the interior sensor is disabled.

How easy is it to fit and replace the sensor. Is it a plug in module or would there be soldering

involved? I do have to get this fixed soon as I'm selling the car and I want it to be in full working

order when I do. Part numbers and prices would be handy too.. Is VAGCOM required to fit

a new one?

Thanks for your help..

Could be the Ultrasound sensor? - 6Y0959121

Ps, are you stripping the car before you sell? :p

Thanks for the part number, and yes some bits will be coming off the car

but I will be trying to sell as is first. I won't accept any dibs just yet.

Keep your eyes on the Car Parts For Sale forum would be my advice.

Whatever happens I'll have some bits and pieces coming up soon, just don't know what yet.

I do have a very recent code scan printout Mike.

The alarm did feature on the list, I'll see if I can dig it out and get the fault code.

No problem, if you need anything else for example exploded diagrams or such like let me know :)

sorry to hijack, but where abouts is the interior sensor(s) located?

Erm, not in mine it isn't mate. There's nothing but a small box attached to a connector and stuffed up into the headlining.
