Best Bluetooth

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Have a 2010 octavia VRS with Bolero unit that doesn't have bluetooth (understand this is pretty standard for tightwads when they purchase new?). Just wanted to know which other solutions people consider the best? Don't have £1000's to fork out but would love to have something that works and may give me some ipod functionality too?

Many thanks

Try doing a search on Fiscon in the Ice Security and Insurance section.

I found the genuine skoda one to be cheaper than the fiscon. You can get all the stuff for under £200.

Great fan of the Parrot MKi9200 - especially as it also provides additional media input too - USB/ipod etc - good sound quality/mic quality

Can pick the unit up for around £150 - and wiring it in is pretty straight forward (or have had quotes of £99 to do it)

Was plug and play of the Fabia - need a harness for the Octavia - and an additional feed run to the fuse box

Will post pics when i put mine in - hopefully next weekend now the fuse holder has been delivered

If you don't need all the media stuff their more basic untits, or the Motorola ones, are really good too

Just under £150.

Thanks for sharing that link. Have you used that company before?

Not myself, but I know people who have and some on here have also, fast shipping and good prices...all genuine stuff. They use PayPal if you're worried about your money.

I've used them a couple of times and they are excellent - very much recommended.

i surggest you get rid of the skoda headunit/speekers and buy a

PIONEER AVH-4400BT Car CD DVD MP3 Bluetooth Stereo USB Aux iPod iPhone 7" LCD

and buy pioneer speekers to for your car

it make a realy big difference to the hole listening experience in your car.

i would never go back

Thanks for all the tips people. I'm going to have a look at what I can do to the Bolero first I think, but it's encouraging to hear good feedback on the Parrot kit too.

Just under £150.

Thanks mate. Now all I would need is someone to fit it! I can strip computers down and re-build blindfold but I dread the thought of taking my new motor to pieces and would prefer to leave to someone who knows what they're doing.

+1 for car systems if got mine from them via eBay

Also it really is an easy fit. Took me 2 hrs max. The second time would be much quicker....

Very happy i got my fiscon.

I've looked at the options and had parrots and similar in the past. Fiscon is the best aftermarket unit i've ever had (to be fair calling it aftermarket is not really a true reflection - its effectively OE kit).

When I order my new car I'll also be having a fiscon fitted.

Out of interest, what makes the fiscon unit better than the oe vw one?

I just had a Parrot MKi9100 fitted because I didn't want another big screen (MKi9200) with the Tom Tom fitted as well.

Got it from Halfrauds for the not-so-fraudulent price of £158 incl. fitting. It does the job perfectly for me with iPhone 4s, either through Bluetooth or the dock cable which charges it too. The remote's been a bit iffy a couple of times but on the whole it's been great. It looks really discreet too.

Hope this helps

It's not an option you can specify on a manual vRS.

Just emailed them, Thanks.

Hi all,

Has anybody on here actually used this system on the bolero unit http://www.carsystem...ssor,id334.html ?

Does it provide all of the functions though the touch screen, such as phone book etc?

It also mentions that something has to be recoded after installation.. What is that about, and how would I go about doing it?

Ta

DG

I have this unit with my Bolero and it works great. I did not get it from Car Systems but they are well known. The fitting is nowhere near as difficult as it might seem, just requires a little patience. Recoding is simple but needs to be done by someone with a VCDS cable. You could buy one yourself but they are expensive. (£200). Someone close to you would probably do it for a couple of fun tokens. The dealers do not seem to know how to do it by the way so probably a waste of time trying to go through them. See useful post here from rwbaldwin http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/227559-vcds-coding-for-premium-bluetooth.

It works very well through the touchscreen on the Bolero but more usefully for the driver also through the Maxidot on the dash right in line of sight.

Brill, looks like i'm going to buy one!
