Maxi dot.

Featured Replies

How will I know if a Vrs has Maxi Dot?

The car I have has sat nav and was sold to me as having Maxi Dot. I am not sure it has, so how do I tell?

Should it have the multi function steering wheel?

Does it display directions on the maxidot?<br /><br />You don't need the MFSW to use the maxidot, as you can use the controls on the end of the wiper stalk from memory.

Mine is different to both of them! I don't have maxi dot but I have a trip computer for mpg etc. I like having the temp showing, and you have to scroll through mine to see it and it doesn't display on the radio =(

Was thinking of getting a maxi dot display but don't think I can justify the cost unless I get a second hand one (I've been looking and they seem to be hard to come by)

Those pictures are for the pre-facelift only.

On the facelift Octavia (2009 onwards) the non-Maxidot and Maxidot displays look very similar.

As Mike says when a door is open on the Maxidot display you will get a picture of a car (similar to that in the pre-FL pics above) and on non-Maxidot you'll get a light instead (again similar to the above pre-FL pictures).

Never understood why maxidot isn't standard

Have a photo of mine I need to upload, can;t figure out how to put it here though... help!!!! =)

The current trip computer has a similar full-length white-on-black display to maxidot but is just a trip computer. Looks nicer than the old lcd display.

You need to use a third party hosting site such as Photobucket...

In theory that could be debated about many features.....but then manufacturers would have nothing to rip you off over ;)

e.g. auto-lights: just a switch (+wire, but 'as standard' would be part of the loom) and and some coding. The switch would be pennies (if that) to manufacture instead of the normal one (maybe even nothing, given it would be a bulk order), the coding would cost nothing. Yet it's a not cheap option on the car. (Can't find the cost on-line, but will be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than the 20p it would have cost Skoda to install as standard)

Same with the front fogs on the base spec Yeti, all that is missing is the bulb, switch and coding.

If the car has satnav, then assuming it was factory fitted the car will have maxidot as it was part of the package.

If you enter a destination on the nav system then you should see the navigation details pop up between the speedo and rev counter as well as on the navigation screen.
