New member - quick question on VRS remap

Featured Replies

Hi, just buying a 56 plate VRS estate. Reading a lot of people saying that the stage one remap is great. Only thing is the car I'm getting has 101k miles on it. Too late for a remap? I imagine it puts extra pressure on internals etc? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

So long as its been looked after (oil changes etc) then should be fine. You might want to invest in a new diverter valve, and check/clean the PCV valve.

Yes get a D Type Diverter valve around £50 , they are from your dealer, the new type are a piston and no diaphragm to tear

If you buy a genuine part from a VAG dealer they will all be at this rev level, for £50 it's a no brainer really.

I'm at 114k on an uprated K04 turbo so you should be fine.

Presumably you have an uprated clutch?

On a 101k car that's the only thing I'd be concerned about.

Yep Sachs clutch. I would imagine the clutch should be ok but it will be on the limit at that mileage. Mine had just started to slip in top gear at stage 1 but I went stage 2+ so uprated the clutch anyway.

345mm R32 brakes to fit as soon as I get em sprayed :)
