Featured Replies

4.5 hours

Yeah i reckon 4hrs ish

Took me about 5hrs

Its an expensive kit isnt it, I priced one up and it would work out cheaper to fit a race clutch.

Not too bad, I presume without the fly wheel though? I was thinking the MK2 is alot more expensive than the 20V T MK1 you can manage to get a clutch kit and solid fly wheel for around £210 off ebay, and before any clever cloggs states the obvious ;-) yes it is an older engine but Audi still used it until 2010 maybe even after that.

Tell me about it!, something i shouldnt be paying for, Skoda UK said they cant find any issue yet the rattling is unreal, they bled the clutch as they could hear it and now its worse than ever, before this they replaced the needles and rollers in the gearbox.

Now doing all that to me is an admission there is a fault, Mark Fox is a complete ****, i would love to meet him on a night out somewhere ....just saying lol.

Anyway Sachs SMF and clutch is £1,052! plus £160(ish for fitting) Could say £1300 really http://www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/products/sachs-race-single-mass-flywheel-smf-clutch-kit-for-vw-02q-6-speed.html

Fecking unreal prices, i've said it before but customer service from Skoda is bloody awful.

3.5 hours is all it takes us to fit a clutch in a vrs, Just over a hour to get it out, half hour cleaning and refitting new clutch and about a hour and a half to two hours to refit gearbox and bleed system, They are a piece of p**s to do.

You can do mine then when it goes!

Just collected my Octavia 1.9 tdi pd from Elite Vehicle Services in Thornaby after having a Valeo solid flywheel conversion fitted, also a new EGR valve fitted new discs and pads on the front wheels total cost £720 which I reckon is really good value. The clutch is light and very smooth the car is running as well as it ever did, brakes will be fine after I bed them in tomorrow.

Sounds good, only i'm running a petrol and this DMF shouldnt be an issue but it has been since we got the car but Skoda and VW finance are washing there hands of it.

Anyway i'll just get a new clutch, then stage 2 (halfway there on that ;) )

I thought I rememberd it being a total rip off price when I priced a kit up before I bought the car. I also remember pricing up a race clutch that was cheaper! It mite be worth considering that if you are going to stage 2 ;-)
