vRS Tyres

Featured Replies

Shame that most aftermarket suspension upgrades will give a harder ride I would imagine.

I swapped to Hankooks from conti sc2. Really chuffed with the Hankooks so far.

I've changed from stock-suspension to Weitec GT-kit.

It's more comfortable up to the point where you push it where it stiffens up alot instead.

A friend off mine has a stock Fabia vRS and he can't believe the difference, despite the car being 30 mm lower AND handling corners way better!

Sounds like a win-win situation. Could be tempted with that. How much is the weitec ft kit tho?!

on the subject of winter tyres and smaller steelies, do these still fit ok with lowered suspension?

If you are fitting tyres of the same circumference then there is not a problem, & wheels of the correct offset & back spacing.

Or are you thinking of taller tyres?

No I'm thinking tyre size, you wouldn't put 225/40/18 on the rear and 225/35/19 on the front even though the circumference is almost the same but I think you could if the 19'" were on the rear and 18" on the front

I may be wrong though

I know high performance cars have different sizes front and rear but the widest size is on the rear.

Sorry George I thought you were asking about my early post about your different tyre sizes on your motor, my miskake sorry

Was looking at 185/55/R15 with set of steel wheels as recommend on mytyres.

Gumby,

I used 205/50/16 last year and will again this year.

(these are probably too tall to fit on yours if lowered)

Remember the tyres you fit will need to be speed rated for a vRS.

These are my 185' as fitted on my Picanto all year, too narrow for all winter use, dry and warm weather etc on a vRS, IMO,

unless you are really running in snow only.

Your choice tho.

(we had snow in April just after a heat wave & i had just removed the Snow tyres, my Bridgestone 215/40/17's were just fine tho

for a few days.)
