Can only speak for the Fabia vRS' date=' but the drivers seat is the most comfortable I've ever sat on.

Don't feel tired or aching even after a 3 hour drive.[/quote']

It is comfortable. BUT the best seat I ever had was on a VW Bora Sport

For me most of the VW Skoda's (felicia, Fabia MK1 (Ex VRS), New Octavia Mk1) suffer from lack of Thigh support. The seat base cushions are way too small (though not as bad as the Peugeot 406).

This was a bit of a surprise - Dad had a late (1995) Favorit GLXie and I found the seats better than my 1998 Felicia GLX. That car in particular was fine for hopping around, but long journeys - ouch.

The Superb and New Octavias are vastly better (as are the VRS models). The new Fabia is also fairly comfortable, but the base cushion isn't perfect. The backrest, however, is.

I'm 6'4" tall and have a history of back problems, in my opinion the standard Octy vRS seats are fantastic. I had the lumber support jacked all the way out, the seat as low as it would go and all the way back, and the backrest almost vertical.

Original ctavia 1.6 GLXi.....lovely, drive all day and still walk when I got out.

new car Octy 2 classic, feels just as good so far. Seat high, wheel pulled out. I'm broad across the ribs at the back and find most hire cars which i drive a lot for work are c**p, specially Astras, Ford Foci and Alfa 136(?) think that's what it was.

Octy 2 seats, loads of reach and height adjust so i like it fine.

The vRS Fabia seat is one of the most comfortable in the range followed (for me anyway) by the Superb seat, the only one I find uncomfortable is the non vRS Fabia's Squawb, the back support is fine but the ridge that runs around the outer edge of the seat base cuts into the back of my thighs after about thirty to forty minutes.

I think the Furby vRS seats are a little on the poor side, padding is to soft and they have no adjustable lumbar support, so not typically as good as the equivalent veedub

I can't stand the standard fabia's seats.

I'm 6'4" and suffer from a bad back, there's just no support what so ever under my legs. It wouldn't be so bad if i could raise the seat straight up, but it only brings the back of the seat up............not all of it. :(

On the look out for some Recaro's to replace them with.

Seat is fairly comfortable when kept upright. But still have to adjust on long journeys to make it sit right.

I'm finding the Fabia VRS seats most uncomfortable!...lack of lower back support and the bolsters on the seat base are of an unusual shape and don't seem the correct shape....hence why i'm planning on getting a new motor!

The seating seemed very comfortable on our demo drives but alas for me the driving seat - despite all electronic combinations- is not comfortable after an hour of driving and causes back ache.

Sorry to hear this. Did you not know Skoda offer a 24hr test drive before you bought the Superb?

For anyone else interested, go to Skoda.co.uk and click Test Drive in the list of options on lower left corner of the screen.

Agree 100%

First car in ages that I have had which didn't have adjustable lumbar support.

Cheap seats

Having a history of back problems I must admit I was most impressed with my old Octy vRS, the adjustable lumbar support made a big difference.

:) I've been driving Rapid's for 16 years now and I've no complaiints with the front seats. Rear bench isn't so good though..not much headroom so her feet get caught in the sunroof!:D:thumbup:

I've driven both the Octavia vRS (I) and the Octavia (II) TDi 140 for long periods and found both to be pretty comfortable.

I think the II has slightly sportier seats, even though it's an estate and not a sports model by any means.

I've now got a Fabia vRS but haven't really put enough miles to find out what they're like. The seats aren't as hugging as the Octavia II though, that's for sure!

One of the reasons I changed from my ugly pugly 607 was I could never get comfortable, even though it was electric.

I find the Octy II really comfortable all the time.

Last weekend I did a 1,000kms trip in an Octy II Elegance, I have a bad back and I found the seats to be comfy, not too much pain, just sitting in any chair is bad for you for that period of time. Just got the setting right and SWMBO drove the car, guess what now my back hurts and I cant get it back again. Should have gone for the leccy ones with memory

From my three then.....

The Octavia seats are comfortable but lack a little under thigh support. The adjustable lumber backrest is good but can feel firm in some places and soft in others.

Cheers

Lee

I couldn't have put it any better myself . In my Mk1 Octavia that is exactly what I find. I drove a Mk2 Octavia sport recently and the seats were much better under thigh.

That said, the seats themselves in the Mk1 are comfortable enough and my dad has had back problems in the past and he highly rates the seats in his Octavia Mk1.

I agree. The Fabia vRS's driver's seat is fantastic. In fact, I don't think the Octy vRS 2's seats are as comfy or supportive...

I havent noticed a problem in the 2 Octavias and 1 Fabia that I have owned hence I voted 'Comfortable', howver the most comfortable seats Ive ever sat in were the Recaros in my 2 Capri 2.8is and my Lancer Evo II , they are a superbly comfortable seat.

The purple velour seats that you get in older Rapids are very comfy, had the same set shuffled between my two Rapids and Snotty every time i have driven to Czech......8 times in total !!!!!

Favorit GLXi seats are also good and easy to remove stains from.........children's mess of course !!!
