6speed manual octavia 1.9tdi PD baulking from 1st to second when cold?

Featured Replies

As said in the topic title the gears aren't right, i've heard of this being a common problem with this gearbox. Im about to change the oil but ive been told this makes no difference. The gears are ok once the car has warmed up!!! Has anybody had this problem?? If so whas there a resolution? FRUSTRATED isn't the word.

Hi and welcome aboard.

Maybe this should be posted in the relevant Octavia thread? Just a thought - You might get a better response...

If I change gears to quickly (1st to 2nd) in my Fabia VRS TDI when it's cold I can feel a slight crunch, but as you say when the engine is warm there is no problems.

Welcome.

My car is just in the garage for pretty much the same thing.

Mine comes and goes a lot so might clutch related (air in system, master/slave cylinder perhaps).
