im looking at getting audi TT seats

fitting them at a mates garage wont be a problem but im just wondering can the relay be fitted and enabled to have the heated seats working?

any input is very welcome!

Doubt there's any wiring in the fabia to plug them into. You'd need the switches, a home made loom and a relay at least.

Was kinda hoping for plug and play :( any idea where to get the required bits?

Have a look on eBay mate. Maybe a universal heater kit and some fabia switches and a it of bodgery.

get a set of seats for £250 get that wiring and fit them probably talking about 350 quid

It should only be a matter of creative soldering if the car was factory fitted with heated seats. Then all you gotta to is connect the new seats. I reckon the wiring is a bit different, but a wiring schematic and a multimeter should sort it out. If not, who the hell doesn't buy heated seats? Besides, it was standard pretty much everywhere.

I'm thinking I may just buy the seats and see what my garage thinks as the seats will come with whatever connectors are needed with them.

I did this on a mk4 Golf, about to do it on my Fabia.

If you can find a fabia Elegance at a breakers it will have the plugs and switches that you need. The switches are pretty expensive new, you'll need the plug to the switch as well and the plug to the seat. Factory heated seat looms run down the centre of the car which can be a pain, much easier to run them down the side.

I seem to recall that there were 4 cables to connect into the car.

1. Earth

2. Illumination for the switch

3. And two 12v supplies, effectively there is a relay inside the switch, so one to power the switch and one to heat the seats.

Take a look on the mk4 Golf forums. Also VW Teeside have an ebay shop, you can download a copy of the instructions to retrofit heaters to a mk4 golf and it's basically the same.

Now does anyone know how to fit the heaters to unheated Fabia VRS seats, or do you know someone that can do it for me?
