MFD weirdness or not?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm fairly new Superb owner (2009, 1.8TSI DSG Ambition) having the car for the last three weeks. Last week I had trailer hitch installed in a certified service shop. After the installation they had noticed that parking aid isn't showing the distance graphics in the stereo display. Otherwise parking aid is beeping correctly. This is still under investigation with the repair shop and is an unsolved issue.

At the same time I think that following happened also: when starting the engine or opening and closing a door the display in the front panel shows "MFD" text in top of the screen where normally clock and gear is showing. This happens for about five seconds and then clock and gear is back on the display. Is this normal? I'm thinking that earlier this didn't happen, because while starting the car and selecting a gear from DSG it's easier to check the display for a gear because leds next to the gear stick doesn't show in a bright daylight.

Could someone confirm if the behaviour is normal or did something happen while car was serviced for the hitch? The service shop claims that this is normal behaviour and because I've had the car for only couple of weeks I'm starting to think that this could be the case and I'm imagining that it worked differently earlier.

Thanks in advance,

H

HMK, with regards to the MFD, nothing unusual there at all - mine does the same.

Yep standard mine does it

Thank you for the confirmation. I thought I might be hallucinating the previous behavior :) Now I'll just wait and see if the service shop resolves thing with the parking aid..
