Autoexpress Greenline test.

Featured Replies

Autoexpress state that the Elegance now comes without a centre rear headrest,it's now a £65 extra.

Their picture of the rear seats does show one fitted.

Can anyone with a newish Elegance confirm this, and are there any other bits of downspecing that Skoda have been sneaking in ? :wonder:

The website still has the April 2012 brochure as the latest. That has the third read headrest as standard on SE and above, and as a £65 option on the others. The January 2011 brochure (when I started looking at getting a Yeti) did state that the third rear headrest was available as a £65 option in all models, but in the individual section listed it as standard on SE over the S spec. Maybe they've been looking at an old brochure - I think the newer ones are clearer.

Unfortunately I don't have an elegance but my month old SE came with the third headrest as standard. Would expect that if it is std on teh SE then it would be on the Elegance too!

Strange! (And absurd! £65 for a headrest ! :swear: ). Over here the third headrest comes standard on ALL Yeti models/configuations.

My Elegance - built 6 April 2012, delivered 1st May has the 3rd headrest.

Can't say that I've noticed anything missing from the spec brochure.

(but it's not a Greenline)

Third headrest is standard on SE and above.

Not seen an Elegance Greenline in for a few months but all the other Elegances here and an SE (Greenline) that went a couple of days ago had it as standard - all built this year.

Maybe Autoexpress are just having a moment or they know something that we don't?

Yes ,I think an Autoexpress moment is most likely, especially were a Skoda brochure is concerned.

It is interesting that AE compared the new Mazda C5 with the Yeti and Sportage whilst What Car compared the Mazda with the Freelander and Audi Q3. Interestingly the C5 came out top in both tests. It seems to me that the comparison with the Q3 and Freelander is probably more realistic because the prices are reasonably close - and most of us generally buy within an "acceptable" price range. Surely the £25k+ Mazda is hardly in the same price bracket as a £20k Yeti?

Why put a Yeti 1.6 Greenline up against a 2.2 litre 148 hp CX-5??

It's not unusual for Auto Express to make mistakes.

I subscribe (although this weeks didn't arrive...) and often see small errors.

Sometimes I wonder if they are really car people or just doing a job.
