Had vrs 2 weeks. sorting some problems.

Featured Replies

hi , I have had my fab vrs for 2 weeks and am trying to sort out some windscreen washer issues. sorry to start a new post but I could not find anything similar.

basically I had to reattach rear pipes and fit a new pump and fit new front jets to get everything working.

have just been out in the car in the rain and if I used the rear washer and then tried to use the front washer water would still come out of the rear. if I waited about a minute then I could pull the lever and water would come out of the front.

weird, any advice ? my pump was a couple of quid from eBay so should I just live with it ? or is it sign of failure to come ?

also my other main problem is that whilst getting my tyres changed yesterday it was found that a number of bolts had been cross threaded on one of the rear hubs by the previous owner. am happy to take this in to the garage as I would like it sorted.

am I looking at a big outlay? had bearings / hubs done in the past on a focus and it was about 70 quid. is it easy enough to get a new set of skoda bolts ?

also, the brakes seem to stop me well but don't feel as sharp as other cars i have had. I am thinking of getting a fluid change and pads and discs on the rear as they are grinding slightly. will I notice much of an improvement in brake feel if I get them sorted or do the fabia brakes always feel a bit vague ?

sorry lots of questions, and bad grammar as I am typing on my phone.

cheers.

washers now they are working (to a fashion) u would look to find one in a scrap yard and go back to oem

cant you freshen threads up with a tap and dye ?

gsf or eurocarparts will supply new hub for 40 quid and get someone at a garage to fit for £30

just changed my whole brake setup back to pagid from aftermarket shoit and they are now ace £115 all in using eurocarparts briskoda discount BRISK25 and a doddle to fit

thanks, euro car parts says 76 quid for rear hub .

WHAT did you put promo code in ?

my front was 40 quid

sorry, rear without the code is 76 but my full basket with hub, discs, pads and bolts is 112. pretty damm good.

are the pagid parts alright? never heard of them.

also, being a numpty , I assume if I put my reg number in the website will only suggest parts that fit? it is a standard fabia vrs.

mine are good, tbf they were the most expensive minus the brembo stuff

Pagid are an original supplier to the VAG! - you cant get any better than that! :-)
