I just rang skoda and he said is it the 5w 40 quantum is this the stuff im after to do a full oil change ?

Quantum Platinum 5W-40 is what you want i think mate, pop down to your local TPS, they should have it relatively cheap

If it's certified to 505.01 or 507.00 it'll be suitable, if it doesn't it won't. The viscosity of such approved oils is 5W-30 or 5W-40. Quantum is VW's own oil, I think it's currently the Quantum Platinum that meets 505.01.

When servicing my vrs i use q8 5/30 and ive had no problems
