Hello there!

Piking up my 2011 Fabia VRS this Saturday (white on white). It's safe to say I am more than a little excited! Photos will follow...

I would appreciate it if any other MK2 Fabia VRS owners could share their experiences with this car.

check out the mark II section, lots of advice...

main things I would say for you and your new car:

1: drive it NORMALLY from new, dont baby it, if it needs full throttle and full revs, do it....

2: check the oil often... and check it when the engine is WARM, they often use some oil in the first 10k...

3: use super unleaded, momentum or v-power if you can...

Yeah, white car white wheels. Found it really hard to decide on a colour combo, as there are many that look great. But the white on white caught my eye.

Will do. I am seeing a lot of worrying threads about poor oil consumption! Have you experienced this? I have had a few cars in my time and never had an oil burner! The VRS I'm getting is a 61 plate with less than 2K on the clock.Thanks, I appreciate the help.

ahhh 2k, so the "running in " will have been done, could have been babied, could be an oil burner....

mine was bouncing off the rev limiter at 14 miles

0-10k 1 litre used

10-20k 250mil used (didnt really need that!)

20-30 no oil consuption AT ALL!

I'm a happy bunny.

edit: was it a demonstrator? if so it should have been driven normally

No it wasn't a demonstrator, the dealer gave me a bit of a story about the previous owner having a illness any therefore needing to sell his car. I am now slightly worried that it has been traded in because of issues with the car! I will be keeping a very close eye on the oil.My intentions are to have some fun, so the advice to not "baby" it is good news.

Yeah, that's the one! :)I was originally going to buy new. I probably would have ordered white/black wheels but when I seen the white/white wheels I really loved it!I picked up the car last Friday and have loved every minute of it since, it really is a brilliant wee car. If you are finding it nippy now then you will get a bit more of that after a few thousand miles and probably then also a few more MPG.

I really would stick with super unleaded,

& i am happy with Tesco Momentum or Sainsbury Super because of the Much Cheapness in the areas i fill up.

Check the Oil level when the car has been run to its been up to 88 degrees or so and has stopped a few minutes and is

parked properly on the level,

and wipe very clean and look closely at the cross hatch area and understand the levels even tho there is no clear marking.

'Do not overfill'.

Your car should be just fine and dandy.

Thanks I appreciate the advice. Have just filled it once, since I got it, at Tesco's using their Super Unleaded, my plan is to stick to Super. MPG so far has been pretty good actually, average 32 but have got 43 on a single trip! My last car was a 1.8 Focus which I struggled to get more than 37mpg. I have been checking the oil rather obsessively after reading some discussions on these forums, all good so far. I've done c.300 miles since I got it (a lot more than I would usually drive in a week) and really haven't got a bad word to say about the car.

When you have the time look when driving easy,

how long from starting of it takes untill the Oil gets to 50 degrees celcius,

maybe 8- 10 miles depending on the weather and ambient temp outside, say 15degree.

It might be showing 37 mpg or so at that oil temp

Maybe 15 miles to get to 85-88 degrees and if you are below70mph you might well get it to show 44-55 mpg average.,

I would suggest, never really really boot it untill the oil is hot.

(sometimes you just need to because of the tw4t on your tail, that just will not pass even tho you leave them space,

but i really try not to!!, the will power is sometimes weak tho.)
