Sorry to bring this up guys, I have a PD170 running lumpy on idle.

Torsion Value = between 4.85 and 5.25 (Measured from VCDS, Group 4)

Wow, never heard of one that far out before.

how easy is the PD170 to re-time?

Same as any DOHC TDI I think. Has it already had a cambelt kit?

Yea already had the kit, I'm just not sure with it being twin cam

Hi:

I´m new in the forum, anyway I need help. At the first time, sorry for my english.

My Combi VRS PD170 had the injector recall on april 7th. After the injector replacement, DPF warning lights at least three times on the first ten days. Now, sometimes the idle goes up - 1.000 - 1.100 rpm - and the car seems to not respond good when I press the throttle at low rpm. It hicth when engine is cold. Before the injector recall, my car runs perfect and smoothly. I read various post in the forum about the injector recall and I think that the origin of the symptoms on my car are a new injectors incorrect fitting.

Tomorrow I'll return to the Skoda Service and I'll claim that he verified the injector fitting and work. But before that, I need to have some information in order to know if the service was working good in my car. So, does someone know if the service can detect an incorrect injector fitting using the VAG? Does the Idle Stabilization show inf injector are fitted and working properly? Whats about the conditios on testing with VAG? Engine warm or cold - engine at idle or in a certain number rpm? Which measures are correct with VAG in order to garantee a correct injector fitting and working? Can someone help me?

Thanks a lot. I'm impressed with the technical level in this forum.

Right I'm going to just leave this here as I struggled to find the right info regarding my ruff idle and white smoke when warming up. Front cam needs adjusting to the torsion value of 0 using vagcom or vcds.. rear now needs adjustment but now looking at injection timing and should be 5.8

Hello guys, I'm a new member of this forum and I have the very same problems with my golf 5 gt 2.0tdi 170 ps.  My front cam was with torsion value from 2.30 and i successfully adjusted to 0.35.

I also moved a little the exhaust cam. My smokey problems and this juggling from the engine are gone. But I still have this rough first idle.  I think my rear cam is not adjusted correctly.

How can i check with vcds the correct values for the rear cam? I read that the injection timing must be 5.8 but I'm not very sure that this is a 100 % correct. Also in some forums, i have read that block 15 of the meas.block the field with consumption on idle must be between 04-0.6 but when i fire up the car this live data just start to count from 0.1. And i don't know how and where to check the correct values for the rear cam.

Sorry for my english.
