Featured Replies

i was thinking off giving up on my truck as its starting to look a little tatty ! bad of me i know .. i was offered £800 for it as it stand , but what could you replace it with in the first place ! and for that money !! as in my last thread about the mayo at the worst its a new lump at the end of the day so its time i pulled my finger out and gave my little truck the love it so needs . by the time all the bits have bin sorted on it theres not going to be a lot of original paint left so i cant expect someone to try and blend it all in !! so now its down to colour ,,

would you go for full respray same colour and plastics same colour ?

or would you go all out and have it bright pink ? blue ? red ? white ?

with a diffent colour plastic ?

need some ideas fellow fun truckers

sticker-bomb it!

I seem to remember reading that the bumpers are incredibly expensive.

Lee, what are you doing in this corner, it's only for the cool kids, you have to smoke or drive a Felly !!

I smoke B) , I drive  I don't have a Belly Felly

*IF* you can find one at a dealer:

£1000 for the front

£600 for the rear

.....so my dealer told me.

You can see why a cracked bumper puts them in CatD terratory. :(

On the other hand, when I get by backside in gear, I have a spare front one sitting the garden ;)

Anyway, back to the topic......

Given that "it's only paint" and nothing irreversable, as long as it's a good job, then really whatever takes your fancy, but, personally I would keep within the "Fun" aspect or maybe look at some ubran camoflage (Like W8) keep posting on Facebook.

If I can find it: I have a picture of a Fun with the plastics in original yellow, but the body in blue (sort of like blue in Adrian Flux ad that keeps appearing at the bottom of the screen,) Worst case scenario....it can always be put back to yellow/yellow.

^ + 1 with Rainbow really. Early on I looked at lots of different Fun examples (UK & Europe), some of which had undergone a complete colour transformation & others just the body kit. To be honest in the majority of cases, in my opinion, they had detracted from the original look & the better ones tended to retain the colour combo and enhance with graphics (however that doesn't mean go sticker mad!). The other approach is to go for the very clean look pretty much as Ross did & that I like.

At the end of the day each to their own but these little trucks are funky & fun in their original guise + it works. I also wonder if colour alteration affects value as many buyers seem to want original? Let us know what you decide :D

With the yellow ones I've seen they make me smile and indeed do look "fun", so silly as to look good, other than some kind of shocking pink or something like that I don't think a different colour would work.

Urban Camo FTW B)

No not shocking pink please but otherwise

Haha a pink fun would be shocking to see.

On and off of eBay at the moment is a felly fun full body kit for 395 and is getting lower each time it's listed.

Once upon a time there was a white/dark green one resprayed by a dealer in Scotia. It had a one-off stainless rear framework with a green Truckman style soft cover. It finally met it's end last year in Petersfield.

.....in other news, have I ever shown you my one-off stainless rear framework and green Truckman style soft cover? ;) ;)

That's definitely a sweet little Fun but they still carry a lot of presence in the colour combo. Love the escort and that's one of the few options I'd choose over the Fun if & when I part company with her ;)

The 2 tone definitely does make it look unique!

When I part ways with my little felly I'm off to Volvo for an 850 T5 estate in white (white to add BTCC vinyl ;) )

^ Just a thought, are there any photoshop type applications out there that you could use to colour adjust a piccy of your Fun? It could be a cheap & quick option to see how different options work visually :wonder:

Download Photoscape - freeware photo editing/management software - and then adjust the 'hue' setting to see what it would look like. Other things in the picture will also change colour, but at least it will give you a pretty good idea of what it would look like in most colours. I dont think you can get shades of black/white/grey using this method - it only appeard to effect colour
