Knocking but cant find it

Featured Replies

I keep hearing a knocking from the passanger front i had it up on a ramp and couldnt find anything but i can feel it so can passangers any ideas guys

I would say drop link or the wish bone bushes I had the same problem and it was both on mine.

second on the anti roll bar bushes, and drop links, when jacked up they are under great pressure and tend not to reveal play easily, whereas a ball joint or tie rod end would do. Personally i did the lot cos there was a kit on ebay, under £80 for ready built wishbones, with bushes and joints, tie rod ends, arb bushes, drops and the car feels superb now, tight as a drum, well worth doing for me, yours may however be more expensive.

I had an annoying knock changes my drop links while I did my coilover bushes had already been done still had knock, turned out to be bonnet catch, put a bit of tape where it locks and cured it. Give your bonnet a jiggle while it's closed see if three is any play worth a try.

Just needs a little bit of insulation tape and will stop any play if you have any

likely story. you just wanted to share a picture of your car lol.

Does it knock in a straight line over uneven ground? When it was on the ramp it should be pretty obvious if it were the bush just from looking at it. Other suspects would be ARB bush or if it does it when cornering consider the cv joint/wheel bearing but the latter is more of a buzzing.
