Thinking about getting a VRS

Featured Replies

First of all hello!

I'm thinking about getting a VRS in the near future. It would be my 6th car in less than two years as i get bored very easily! Previously i've had a Vw Golf Mk3 GTI, Vw Golf Mk4 1.6, Toyota Corolla GS and am currently driving a Grande Punto T-jet. The t-jet is about to die so am thinking about gettin a more reliable car.

I wanted to get a car thats reasonably cheap to buy, insure, run and modify. I came up with the VRS as i've read there is a lot you can do to it and the engine has a lot of room to grow and asthetically can also look very nice.

Just have a few questions about costings of mod's ect. Now i no about the normal mod's, turbo back exhaust, remap, rear arb, coilovers ect. but was just wondering whats the max bhp and torque you can get for a reasonable price? i.e. not thousands. My Grande Punto T-jet is pretty much maxed out at 179bhp unless i spend another 3grand on the internals of the engine which i dont really want to do.

Idealy i would like my VRS to be around 200bhp with 280tourques(forgot the measurement for torque) lol

Any ideas/suugestions would be more than welcome.

Thanks

Jordan

Guessing going off the torque figures your referring to a tdi vrs. Can only assume your meaning a mk1 fabia ??

Welcome - but as others say, you need to tell us if you're talking about a Fabia VRS or an Octavia VRS, petrol or diesel.........

Yep and if you were talking about a mk1 petrol vRS you'll get that power easily but the torque will be a bit more expensive!

Welcome

Hello sorry for not specifying, i am talking about a MK1 fabia vrs.

Thought so mate.

Quite straight forward really but will cost a few quid. Front mount intercooler , sports/de cat and a good map of shark and i reckon wouldnt be far off those figures.

Yeh I was thinking of PCD160 intake, sports cat and a remap, not sure if I will need the front mount inter-cooler unless I upgrade the turbo?

Looking to buy one in August for about £4000-£4500 with around 60-70k miles on the clock, should i be able to get one for around that?

Cheers

Ye should think so. Fmic just helps it really especially under harder revs. Not necesarily for turb upgrade as the 130 one has plenty potential really

Yeah think i'll start with the PCD160 remap and exhaust, along with rear arb front upper strut brace and some coilovers :) I'll look into getting a FMIC later on as there quite expensive!

Cheers
