Hi,

As Liverpool-Lad pointed out in another thread, my exhaust tip is embarrassingly in need of shining up, and currently looks duller that Dull Dave driving a D reg Dacia in Daventry.

Can anyone recommend something to clean these types of exhausts ..... pref something I can order off eBay as I'm generally too lazy busy to get out and buy off the shelf.

Some metal polish should do the trick.

Autosol or Meguiers do some good stuff in a round tub IIRC. Did you get the thread title from The Carry on guide to thread titles?

I've found that Autoglym Paint Renovator works well on my exhaust tip - good job too because its naff on paint!

Autosol / fine brass wool / toothbrush / cloth

= job done

Thanks guys, have picked up some Autosol off eBay

Get some fine wire wool as well, it makes such a difference and really will bring it up a treat. If you don't want to wait after ordering it online, somewhere like Homebase will sell it (I get mine from Homebase, they have a pack of 3 thicknesses for £1!!)

Hand polishing is a waste of time!

You need a machine

Might be investing soon, once i get the nerve and the weather to wet sand the clear coat off my front wing to fix the peeling lacquer... and then do the driver door for same problem
