Sorting my stereo so the sodding driver speaker works properly.

Nothing more infuriating than a non working speaker

Will get the electrical tape and wire ties at the ready and the top box out this time to make it easier to get to the wire. I feel where I put it last time on the side where I could barely reach is the reason why the speaker isn't working. I think I haven't quite got the connection right. I hope that's the case and not that there is an issue somewhere else. I really don't fancy chasing the wire all the way along.

Also where do people mount their mic? Mines currently on the A pillar but often someone will comment on the wind noise, was thinking of somewhere near the interior light but not sure where to mount it. Any thoughts would be gratefully received

Installing a full set of LED interior lights and LED number plate lights, plus a milotec bumper protector, plus some chrome trim around the AC controls, stereo and cup holders. Hopefully won't look too bling bling :giggle: .

All sourced from SuperSkoda and shipped at extortionate expense to the bottom of the world. As others on here have observed, not the cheapest supplier on the planet...

Deciding which color to order my next vRS Octy :p

what about 2 non working speakers?

Based on Nissan experience which is probably of little help but I will post it just in case. Try all functions on the unit before diving into it. I never used the radio on the Nissan so assumed wiring to one speaker as it was intermittent & would only work properly when accelerating, kind of interesting with 500 bhp to play with

It transpired it was a circuit board in the main unit that had failed, the Radio which didnt use that circuit was fine

Ive now had 2 replacement units in 3 months & waiting for the third as all the replacements had other issues.

I get no sound out of mine until I turn the bolero up a bit, then it works. how odd.

Haha

Found one of the blocks was damaged so wasn't staying clipped in, wire tie will sort that. Have decided to move my parrot screen and mic while I'm at it so the car is currently in bits

And finished

Mic is now hidden in the lighting on the roof and the speaker is working :)

Happy now and also sorted my tomtom holder, currently sat drying in a vice so hopefully that will work when I test it tomorrow

Much better location for the Parrot, that's where mine is, wires nicely hidden and can be used by the passenger too.

My mic is also on the interior light so again no unsightly wiring / wind noise.

Yea being in the middle looks more uniform ;)

As for the mic it's hidden behind the little grille which had a black sponge block behind it?!? Tested and it works so pleased with that. Hope it's ok when I'm driving

Will post pics of the tomtom mount when it's dry, bit miffed Herbert richter didn't make a mount for the start 25 but then this way is free!

Doh, drove to work and on isdle there is a rattle. Looks like I will be taking the car apart again! I hope it's just behind the climate control but can't be sure. PIA whatever it is

Have you installed a Parrot kit (or similar) too? I'm having something similar with my kit at the mo, think it might be the additional wiring harness as I have fading speakers using either the iPod or headunit which sorts itself out when i increase the volume, and the wiring harness is the only common denominator - think I'll be having a look at it next weekend - getting good at taking the trim off now :)
