back box delete

Hi All

My back box decided to snap right at the box so i couldnt get a weld on it!!!

I did the only thing that a could ( with no spare cash!!) and deleted the box and welded in a straght threw, it sound amazing!!!! and it passed the mot with it on.

Take a look and let me no wat you think??

Ive been thinking of doing this. Think its called a mufflerectomy. Have you noticed any drop in power etc

I havent noticed any power loss (dyno next month to be sure), just noise gane, i think i might need a re-map now as the car was mapped with the box on but wont no till i get it on the dyno.

this is exactly what i have had on mine for the last year

the cars coming up on 174k no so been on there nearly 15k with no issues or loss of power.

I will try and get one up wen she is on full song (full throttle 2-3 gear) sounds realy nice.marko

I have to say that i am not too keen on that, sorry buddy but being honest it sounds like you have a hole in your exhaust and kind of reminds me of when my old escort dropped it's exhaust at the manifold. I like loud exhausts but I think they need to have some resistance of a back box to make the sound more deeper and purposeful if that makes sense.

Of course I would say mine is just right :giggle: , as I have decat and piper single rear box system. On tickover sounds purposeful and on driving slow is awesome and then on full chat (think I just drippled)appreciate you car though and you like it that's cool. Not for me buddy.cheers for sound file
