Taken the plunge!

Featured Replies

Well, finally ordered my new Superb today. Gone for the 2.0 CR Elegance estate, 140hp 4x4 DSG in Candy White. Been quoted a 4 to 6 month wait, just hope it is worth the wait!!

I'm sure it will be.

Bring on the snow (hopefully)

You need to be careful when ordering now, a facelift should be due anytime soon, so you could end up waiting for an old model in the end, sorry but that would take the shine off it for me tbh.

Trouble is...with such lengthy lead-in time, that's probably always gonna be the case, no matter when you order.

You may well be correct:

In this week’s edition of this German magazine, there is a large article about new Skoda’s.

Most of the article is devoted to the new Rapid, Octavia and Fabia. However, there is a passing reference to the 'upgraded' Superb, which is available in May 2013. There is one picture of the front and no mention of any rear or cabin changes. The picture is not available on their website today but it should be there soon.

The bonnet is similar to the new Rapid with a distinct notch, which extends down into the grille. The grille is now much shallower, about half the current depth.

The headlights are also have much less depth to match the grille. They are almost rectangular and wrap around into the front wings to a much lesser degree. Drl's are built into the headlights; they extend on three sides of the headlights in a C pattern that mimics the rear light pattern and look just like an Audi.

Changes like this are of course a subjective matter but in my opinion, it is a great improvement, giving the car a very different and more purposeful look. If they change the rear of the hatch to the same degree, it will be a significant upgrade drastically improving the model.

Nice choice - white is the best!!

Looking like an A6 rear and a B7 front from these shots

I did a mock up like this when the Sup 2 was about to launch and got all sorts of nah it looks better as it currently is remarks, which I still don't agree with, if this is the new rear I think it looks miles better than the unbalanced rear light config.

Y U K !!!

Thank God it's just a rendered image and according to the website it was presented on their website on 01 May 2011. Just my opinion but it's a shame it didn't stay undiscovered for a lot longer.

You are joking aren't you, how can you say that pic is yuck, it cleans the whole rear of the car up, as it is with those boot reflectors it looks like someone pinned an afterthought on an ugly rear anyway, the two single most improvements to the rear look are to have rear lights that are the same size as the boot sections, and to get the kink out of the rear opera window in the back door, look at the old A8 or the Phaeton if you need a guide to how it should look, the car is also to skinny for it's length as well, you'll all be in the new Kia Optima before long anyway when you see the pricing and that it looks better and costs less, and lets not mention the SEVEN year warranty eh :whew:

Personally, I love those new images of how the Superb facelift may look.

Interesting comments about the Kia Optima - I looked long & hard at buying both that and the sister car Hyundai i40 a month or so ago. Only thing that killed it in the end was the lack of headroom - I couldn't fit in to one with a panoramic roof, and the roof is standard on the top-spec models. :(
