Rear passenger footwell very wet

Featured Replies

Hi guys, the other day got in my VRS to find a bit of a smell, so did a bit of sniffing to find the rear passenger floor mat was soaking, lifted it up to find the carpet almost had a pool of water on it. I know we have had some bad weather but this is the first time this has happend in the year and a half of owning the car. Any ideas guys where the water may have got in ? Cheers!!!

Had to take a look today at this problem of water getting in the rear foot well. Took passenger seat out and rear seats removed all the trim then used a vax hoover to suck all the water from the foot well, there was about 4 pints or so, then cut the sound proofing out and let that drip dry but this will take days to do, then did the hose pipe test with my son sat inside the car to find the water is coming in via the rear passenger door out from behind the door card, took door card of to see the water is spashing down the back of the door card to the bottom and into the car, the reason this is happening is due to the membrane on the door not been there so tomorrow some visqueen and silicone to sort this out and fingers crossed the rain stops for a few days

If you find it still gets wet, then check under the scuttle panel for the grommet next to the pollen filter, as that is a well known cause of a wet rear footwell on the passenger side.
