plastic radiator surround help

Featured Replies

Hi all

Can I get a replacement plastic radiator and aircon surround? I know it's quite a large piece but mine has been damaged (long story involving someone who should know better..not me btw). It's the piece that you use the three poppers to secure your front bumper at the bottom to.... any help would be ace.

Are you talking about the radiator mounting tray?

The edges of the tray surround the radiator.

Yes. Well i think so. I know it has three holes in the bottom under the rad to secure the bottom of te bumper to it.

I just can't mentally picture what part the 3 split rivets go into. I would have thought it would be the lock carrier (the metal part that surrounds the radiator tray).

Last time I replaced a twin fan tray it was about £45 retail.

How long ago? Also where from? I know it quite a big piece

That was the dealer retail price (incl VAT). I think it was about six weeks ago.

How did you manage to break it?

I didnt break it. I left it with a mechanic to drill two holes in my crash bar for an intercooler and to trial fit the cooler and for some unknown reason he saw fit to saw a part of it off!!! Aparently to make room for pipework. I pointed out why that wasnt needed but as he was doing this for free I didnt want to moan. Just put it down to life experience. He did a great job on the crash bar though so hey ho. Anyways thats great I will pop down to my local skoda and order it.
