2nd Service

Featured Replies

My 2010 Petrol VRs 10,000 miles is booked in for it's second service on Tuesday.

I have it on the £299 upfront service plan so most will already be paid for. But is there anything else that I should all them to change? Filters? Spark plugs? Money no object what would I get replaced?

I was thinking fuel and oil filters, A/C service and brake fluid which is included in service.

Do Skoda flush the engine between oil being drained and replaced?

Anyone have anything else?!

Cheers

Brake fluid is at 3 years in the first instance and then every 2 after that. Fuel filter not needed. Air filter not scheduled but I would do it for how much they are. Same with spark plugs.

The oil change will be so quick you will be lucky if they let all the old stuff drain out (assuming its not sucked out of the dipstick hole).

AC service will be cheaper elsewhere and should not need topping up. A refresh can be done by yourself using this..

Works by putting a foam over the condenser that kills the bacteria. Much more effective than the vapour bomb types.

2nd service? At what mileage did you have the 1st service done at?

The oil filter is included as part of the service/oil change.

The fuel filter is a quick change and is a low cost item but as mentioned it doesn't really need doingjust yet.

Modern diesel engines should never be flushed, it does them more harm than good.

First service was done at 4000 miles when I purchased the car as part of the deal.

Do the spark plugs need a change? Or worth changing?

I will be getting a Fabia VRs.for the day whilst mine in so should be an interesting comparison!

If it was serviced at 4k then it wont be due until around 13k,mine put the spanner symbol on when the service is due,i took out the service plan when i bought my car,it covered the 3rd & 4th year service, the garage did the 2nd year service which was not much more than a oil change & look over the car,the 3rd was not much more than a oil change & brake fluid change, the 4th had the spark plugs & pollen & air filter replaced.

I am on annual servicing and it has been a year since it was last serviced. I don't do many miles a year!

But his is petrol... :hi:

Spark plugs should be good for 40k. You can change them but it will be false economy.

I am opting for fixed servicing on mine. At the rate I am using the car at the minute, the 12k service is likely to be the 4th one!.

Ah ok.
