wrapping my grill, help please

Featured Replies

gona give it a go and wrap my grill in gloss black vinyl. done a search but cant totally find what i want. just a few questions. how does the wrap come? is it a sheet or roll? tips on the starting process please. do you lie the grill on the sheet cut round then fold over so there is no joins? if you understand what i mean? anyone got any pics of the wrapping as its being done? cheers

What i did fella is watch a few vids on youtube, surprisingly good and helpful tbh.

The wrap would usually come on a roll or a sheet dependig how much you order and where from Get a heat gun to warm and stretch the wrap as its good for getting rid of creases and bubbles. Should get a perfect finish :)

Oh and have clean hands aha

My son did mine he's a graphic designer and just started wrapping full cars now, he did mine on the car a lot easier just used a single piece big enough to cover the whole grill.

On the car? Without removing the grill? Is that easier? Anyone else done it whilst leaving it on the car?

Yes because it's firmly in place would be harder off the car to keep the grill steady while you stretch the vinyl

Over.

Might try that, anyone else done it this way?

Hi Mike, I bought the vinyl from ebay it comes in a roll, I found it a nightmare to do. After two attempts I went to Halfords and bought a tiny of grey primer a tin of Skoda Black Magic paint and a tin of laquer think I was about £24 in total. Then just sand down the chrome grile to get a key apply two coats of primer and I did about 6 coats of Black Magic then 2 coats of laquer. The halfords paint is quick drying you can recoat in 15 minutes. This gives a far superior finish and is a lot less stressful. Hope this helps mate.
