Temperature Gauge Sender

Featured Replies

Does anyone have a part number for this that I can qoute to the Skoda Dealer, just to make sure I get exactly the right part?

Recently purchased a 2004 Octavia PD130 with 126,000 on the clock and although most of the time the temp gauge sits bang on 90, it sometimes drops rapidly to 50 (which is effectively zero on the needle range) and then suddenly jumps back up to 90 in seconds, some time later.

Feel fairly sure that, due to the speed of the rise and fall of the needle, that this is a sender issue but a little concerned if the information from the sender is being used by the fans at all to determine when to cool and when not to?

Searching the forums, seems to be a common part failure.

Many Thanks!

sender as 2 sets of outputs (4 pins) - 2pins for the dash gauge and the other 2 for the ECU. So the ECU might still be getting sensible numbers, but better safe than sorry.

Make sure you pick up a new o-ring as well. The new CTS should be be green, but I would imagine your 2004 already has a green one fitted (early Octys had black ones).

Great, thanks. Are there any pics of the location of the Temp Sender? To give me a quick idea as to what to look for when I pop the bonnet?

I know where it is on the 110, but not sure on the 130.

This is where the 110 CTS is located
