Featured Replies

hello all,

my car insurance is up next month been with adrain flux for years now but just done a quick search on the insurance bit on briskoda and it doesnt seem i will be getting anything off this year. just wondered where some of you are insured with.

paid roughly £500 last year

any help would be good thanks

Ant

I'm with sky. Mine always comes down each year. But saying that I'm paying £1400!

Hi Ant, I'm 23 and had a quote of £380 from quotemehappy.com. The car is standard, I have no convictions/points, 6 years no claims. I selected fully comp, 5,000 miles a year, parked on street. I'm currently paying £480 with Admiral so will be a nice saving  Adding your parents even if they don't plan on using the car everyday will save you a noticable amount as well as tweaking your job description without lying of course e.g Computer Analyst was £20 cheaper than Computer Technician for some bizzare reason..

its not looking good.. i cant believe how much some of the companies want of you, what a joke.

I dont like talking politics but its these blood sucking "whip lash" claiming scummers.

PS not the genuine ones the ones who have a slight knock and think its ok to claim £3k back.

1400????? how come so much?

I think it's because I'm 22 and mainly because I live in 'beautiful' north London 2 mins from where the riots were. Needless to say the vrs was in hidding while all that was going on!

Well I'm 26 7/8 years no claims, got 3 points which didn't even change my insurance lastyear and a dad of 1.

I had a fully modified classic mini fast road all declared and insured for £6000 photos done too at 22 and was only about 350-400 fully comp.

Mines £325 fully comp but I,m an old b*****d at 40! Pay £89 full comp for my mk2 escort.

Mine is due this month but I haven't had my renewal from Admiral yet. I'm 22, had my licence since '07 but rather annoyingly only half years count so I lose one because I passed my test in September. Been driving since I got my licence, but only owned my car 2 years so only 2 yrs no claims. Last year my renewal was £710 but hopefully it'll come down this year, before I have to increase my mileage and my job changes.

What on earth job description do I give them when my official one is "Business Graduate", and the company is in more than one industry...it's a nightmare :(

I've been with Adrian Flux for several years with both cars (actually Flux Direct with the Fabia). I think I've let it auto-renew two years running since I've not been able to get a better quote. Currently paying about £270 but then I'm old...

They're an easy company to deal with though I've not had any claims.

thing to check is a lot of the realy cheap insurers don't allow you to protect your no claims, and also check for class 1 business use if you drive between offices at work

im insured with post office, best quote i got was them at around 500 quid, im 27 with 5 years no claims but with another 5 years no claims as named driver, fully comp, no excess, 10k miles and class 1 business use with 2000 business miles. I think its dearer in N.ireland to insure a motor, i should only be paying 400 me thinks.

Ant give Sky a call.

They were much better than any of the other sponsors and modification specialists that were out there.

£500 though, were your mods declared??

Gosh, I'm 23 and paying nearly double that on a 1.2 classic.

£298 a year, Tesco 5 years NC, 32 years old, 10k miles a year, no points, Parked on a drive, fully comp, protected NC,

oh Computer Analyst was cheaper for me than tec

Maybe it's been a youth worker/youth minister. I need a less expensive job!

Got a quote to put the other half on mine and it went downby £400. I think it's because she is a 'cough' copper.
